Liz Coleman
Co-Owner
Liz has shaped the company’s vision and creative direction, bringing decades of design, branding, and storytelling experience to the team. A native Oregonian, Liz studied Visual Communications and Advertising at Oregon State University, where she met her husband and future business partner, John Coleman.
Before her career in family farming, Liz worked in Portland’s advertising industry and later managed brand and design initiatives for a global company at the intersection of sport, design, and culture. She went on to co-found and help transform John’s sixth-generation family farm cooperative—leading succession planning, brand strategy, and marketing within the hop and craft brewing industry. Liz also co-led the first Hop Terroir Research Project with Oregon State University, advancing regional identity and deeper producer–brewer connections across the U.S.
Today, Liz leads the Family Office and serves as Brand Advisor, continually weaving creativity, sustainability, and connection into the farm’s next chapter, guided by the founding philosophy of Meliorism. When not working with the team, she can be found in her art studio or exploring the natural beauty that inspires her creativity and the farm’s philosophy.
