Barley Partners

Linc Malt

We partner with LINC Malt, a farmer-owned cooperative that creates new regional markets for high-value grains. Together, we identify specific barley varieties and farm sources to produce craft malt with unique, local character for brewers and distillers across the Inland Northwest. Through this direct relationship, each grain lot can be traced back to the farm and land where it was grown, connecting the story of our fields to the flavors in every pint. We share LINC Malt’s commitment to supporting local agriculture and celebrating a strong sense of place in craft malt.

Hazelnut Partners

George Packing Company

We partner with George Packing Company, a trusted name in Northwest hazelnut processing and distribution. Our collaboration began more than 27 years ago with the development of our first traditional hazelnut processing plant. Since then, George Packing has provided growers like us with expert support—from selecting new plantings to implementing sustainable, affordable orchard management practices. Together, we’re helping produce rich, flavorful Northwest hazelnuts while advancing the long-term vitality of the region’s orchards.

Research Partners

Research on the Effects of Wildfire Smoke on Hop Quality with Oregon State University’s Dept. of Food Science and Technology

As wildfires become increasingly common in Oregon, we’ve been working with Dr. Cade Jobe and OSU to better understand how wildfire smoke impacts the delicate flavors and aromas hops provide. By studying these effects, we can help protect Oregon’s hop industry.

Weed Management Trials with Oregon State University’s Department of Horticulture

We’re working with Dr. Marcelo Moretti to advance more efficient land cultivation solutions, from novel electric weed control to evaluating new chemistries for weed suppression.

Research on Native Cover Crops and Basalt Application in Hazelnut Orchards with University of Oregon’s Dept. of Biology & Environmental Studies

We’ve partnered with Dr. Lauren Hallet and UO to develop native cover crop techniques that prevent habitat loss, erosion, and increased chemical use from standard soil maintenance methods in Oregon’s hazelnut orchards.

Conservation Partners

Salmon-Safe

We partner with Salmon-Safe, an organization that protects and restores Pacific Northwest watersheds through ecologically sustainable land management. Our Salmon-Safe certification recognizes our shared commitment to healthy ecosystems and the protection of native wildlife.

Natural Resources Conservation Service

We partner with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), a long-standing supporter of agricultural producers, to reduce our impact on natural resources while rebuilding ecosystems that coexist with our farms. Through regenerative farming practices at Westwood Farms, we’re working to restore balance to the land and create a self-sustaining environment where agriculture and nature thrive together. NRCS programs help us enhance soil health, preserve water quality, and steward our land responsibly. Together, we’re ensuring that Westwood Farms continues to thrive for generations to come through a shared commitment to regenerative, land-based conservation.

Green Chief®

We are proud to be part of Green Chief®, a grower-led best practices program developed in partnership with Yakima Chief Ranches. As one of the farms in the program, we collaborate regularly to promote sustainability, quality, and traceability, ensuring responsible farming and consistently high-quality hops.
