Hazelnuts

Grown in the Heart of the Willamette Valley

Our orchards have been nurtured for decades on the sloped hills of our farm, benefitting from the sandy-loam soil and ideal climate of the Valley. We’re currently growing three varieties of hazelnuts.

  • Jefferson

A tried and true variety for us, its blight-resistant quality ensures a consistent yield year after year.

  • McDonald

A favorite in Oregon, this variety is well-known for its consistent size, shape, and flavor.

Our Jefferson trees have been recently joined by freshly planted McDonald trees. We’re looking forward to offering McDonald hazelnuts in 2030 when the trees have matured.

Our hazelnuts are processed by George Packing Company and Northwest Hazelnut Company, the largest processors of hazelnuts in the United States.

We’ve also partnered with the University of Oregon on an innovative research endeavor, studying how using new techniques with cover crops can protect hazelnut orchards. The hope is that these new techniques will prevent erosion, habitat loss, and chemical usage across Oregon’s orchards. If you’re interested in learning about this study, you can read more here.

Our Practices

There’s a complex ecosystem around us. To protect it, our holistic farming approach leverages minimally invasive techniques and contemporary research to harvest exceptional, ethically-grown hazelnuts.
